We Want The Funko: DC Legion of Collectors' Suicide Squad Box

We Want The Funko: DC Legion of Collectors' Suicide Squad Box

Hi guys! So I've been hearing a lot about these new subscription services that bring you a surprise box of geek stuff to your door, and I'd been wanting to try one out. I spend enough on T-shirts every month that I can justify the expenditure, especially since these boxes typically come with licensed apparel, collectibles and other goodies each month. The problem was just deciding which service to subscribe to.

I've got some friends that subscribe and rave about Loot Crate, but I wasn't into the complete randomness of their boxes. I'm a geek of many tastes, but not necessarily enough to wear a T-shirt for EVERY property.  Narrowing down my focus I looked into Funko's subscription services featuring boxes for Star Wars and Marvel fans but ultimately decided on DC's Legion of Collectors. The service is $25 every other month, but has a narrow enough focus that I thought I'd enjoy whatever came my way. In addition, I went ahead and ordered the DCTV box had already been released in May 2016, which I liked quite a bit!

So already satisfied with the service, I went ahead and signed up for their bi-monthly rate and waited for the next box to show up, which happened this week! So here's my look at the new Suicide Squad-themed box from DC's Legion of Collectors

It's Clobberin' Time...

The Box Itself:

As you can see, the silohette of Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn adorns July's box, punctuated by the designs for her tatoos in the upcoming movie, which opens on August 5, 2016.

The First Level:

As it is with every LOC box, the first foldout contains a new patch and a pin.

This month features a pin for Will Smith's character Deadshot, which is pretty sweet.

Followed by a Katana patch, which I like even more.

Taking a closer look at the flap on the box, you see some pretty cool portraits of the characters from the upcoming movie.

The Rest of the Box:

Opening up the rest of the box, this month's T-Shirt features Task Force X in Vinyl Figure form. Characters include Will Smith's Deadshot, Margot Robbie's Harley, Jared Leto's tatooed up Joker, Karen Fukuhara's Katana, and Joel Kinnaman's Team Leader, Rick Flagg. Admittedly, the shirt is a bit of a letdown after last month's awesome Arrow shirt, but it's still pretty comfy!

The POP! Vinyl figure for July is Cara Delevingne's Enchantress, which is a character I'm completely unfarmiliar with even though I've been reading DC Comics my whole life! I really wanted a Harley or a Suicide Squad specific Batman, but this is still rather awesome.

Then again, I ended up with a 3.75 inch action figure of Harley instead! Along with a new Joker! At first I thought they were retro figures similar to Funko's REaction line, but they've actually got several points of articulation. These are pretty much the highlight of this month's box for me.

Next up is a copy of Suicide Squad #1 with a POP! Vinyl variant cover.

Lastly, you get a preview of September's box: The Women of DC!

Conclusion:

So overall, this is quite the terrific box, and well worth the $25 price tag. So if you love DC Comics and DC Films as much as I do and you're looking for one of these subscription services, I'd go ahead and sign up!
